State Police arrested a 28-year-old Hyde Park man Wednesday for allegedly sexually abusing children.
Tyler G. Leclerc, age 28, of Hyde Park, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Feb. 5, New York State Police said on Thursday, Feb. 6.
Leclerc was charged with Third-degree criminal sexual act and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
On Jan. 31, troopers in Poughkeepsie received a report of sexual abuse of a child, State Police said. Their investigation revealed evidence that Leclerc had sexually abused multiple children over several years.
This case was worked in conjunction with the Troop K- Computer Crimes Unit, Troop K- Forensic Investigation Unit, Troop K-Community Stabilization Unit and the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center.
Leclerc worked at one of Leclerc Martial Arts’ locations, but he is no longer an employee, said Laura Leclerc, an instructor at the school. Leclerc Martial Arts appears to be owned by Leclerc’s father. It has six locations in Dutchess and Ulster counties.
By Friday, the martial arts school had deleted its social media accounts.
Tyler Leclerc was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County jail in lieu of $200,000 cash bail, $400,000 bond or $2 million partially secured bond.
